Anette Frank

Anette Frank joined the MLTT group of XRCE Grenoble as a researcher in January 1997.
She obtained her masters degree in linguistics, computer science and romance languages and literature from the University of Stuttgart, Germany. From 1991 to 1997 she worked as a research assistent at the Institute of Natural Language Processing at the University of Stuttgart, in several projects: on French LFG syntax in the machine translation project EUROTRA-D, on principle-based grammar formalisms (HPSG and GB) in the SFB 340, and on semantics and context dependence of modal constructions in Discourse Representation Theory (SFB 340).
She obtained the degree of a Dr. phil. from the University of Stuttgart in 1997.

Her activity in MLTT started with the development of a French LFG grammar and lexical resources in the ParGram (Parallel Grammar Development) project. Recently, she developed a prototype transfer grammar for LFG-based translation from English to French. Currently she is investigating methods for f-structure annotation of treebanks, in collaboration with Josef van Genabith, Louisa Sadler and Andy Way (see their treebank webpage).
