README(USAGE TIPS)



WORDSUGGESTER is a user interface to look-up words(stems) both in its own 
database and the WordNet-database. 

WORDSUGGESTER may give the user suggestions to improve his queries for the 
search in Internet, or give more ideas to improve his text production, etc.



I. INPUT AND OUTPUT

- WordSuggester-pane
Lists the stems(words), which are the most assicated to the input-word in 
World Wide Web.

- WordNet-pane
Lists different word senses to a input-word, and, for each sense, the words 
or conceptions, which stay in different semantic relation to this word sense.

- DATABASE-list, Show-button and Delete-button
User could directly select a stem saved in the database from this list, show 
its top asscociated stems(words) and its entries in the WordNet-database, or 
delete this stem permanently out of the database.

- Top-box, Web-box and Word-input
If a stem is not found in the database, user could start the download and 
analysis process, deciding the number of top associated stems(words), the 
number of websites to be downloaded and the download module(see II. MENUBAR).

- START-button and STOP-button
User could start to look-up in the database or to process the download and 
analysis, and stop(cancel) them before they are finished.



II. MENUBAR

- File:Stopwords
To view the English stopwords list.

- File:Web-stopwords
To view the so-called web-stopwords list.

- File:Exit
To exit the program.

- View:Increase font size
To increase the font size in WordSuggester-pan and WordNet-pane.

- View:Decrease font size
To decrease the font size in WordSuggester-pan and WordNet-pane.

- Option:Download Module I
The selected number of URLs are to be saved, each website download takes 
at most 5 seconds, if errors occur, this URL and its download are to be 
cancelled, so finally less websites might be successfully downloaded.

- Option:Download Module II
Only one URL is to be saved, its website download takes at most 5 seconds, 
if errors occur, this URL and its download are to be cancelled, next URL 
and its download are in turn, until total selected number of website are 
successfully download.

- Option:WordSuggester on
Trun on the WordSuggester.

- Option:WordSuggester off
Trun off the WordSuggester, only WordNet is on.



III. POPUPMENU

- Copy
To select the text and copy them in the system clipboard.

- Increase font size
To increase the font size in WordSuggester-pan and WordNet-pane.

- Decrease font size
To decrease the font size in WordSuggester-pan and WordNet-pane.
