Building Computational Models to Understand Scholarly Documents for Supporting Scientific Knowledge Discovery and Communication

Abstract

The accumulated scientific knowledge is the foundation upon which informed decision making is built, with huge impact across a wide range of critical applications. In this talk, I will give a short overview of our recent work on scholarly document understanding to support scientific knowledge discovery and communication, including interactive document2slides generation, science journalism summary generation, scientific leaderboards construction, NLP TDM knowledge graph construction, and diachronic analysis of the NLP research areas.
